Trip to Nandi Hills, Bangalore

Nandi Hills is a famous hill station very near to bangalore (around 70 kms). Its situated at 4851 ft above sea level. Exploring this area on a bike would be amazing. We took a Bajaj CT 100 :( , we were afraid if we could reach the hill top with this bike. But We Did It.....

It would be better to use a 150 cc or more type bike. Bikes will be allowed only till the entrance. Cars can go till the top of hill. But its better to park your vehicle at the entrance and walk. Only disappointing thing was that the road will be closed at the foot of the hill till 6:00 AM. At 6:00 road will be open, but the vehicles will be sent only one by one after they note down the vehicle numbers. It would be better if you could reach the foot of the hill 1 hour before and occupy the front row.

By around 6:15 we were allowed to climb the hill, its written as there are around 40 curves till the top. Within half an hour we reached the entrance. Entrance was clothed in thick mist, from there we collected tickets and started climbing the hill.

The woods are really awesome in the mist. We had a lot of photo sessions in the misty woods. These woods really had a horror movie effect. We were interested in exploring the woods rather than the common places. There is a place were rare species of birds are present, we some shutter bugs with long telephoto lenses, indulged in series business.

Evening Train

Don't sigh when you hear that evening train go by
Love to see those fields I used to roam..
Then I know I'm on my way back home...
